CONSTRUCTION TASKS

TASK No. 1

For this piece of work, we will be exploring multi - storey building construction in ‘real - time’, where I will act as supervising architect. To facilitate this, I will be visiting the construction site of the new Enterprise and Innovation Centre at NTU. During terms 1 and into term 2. Throughout this period of the brief, I will be documenting the progress of the construction on site, and comparing this against the actual programme and construction documents as well as exploring my own interests in relation to the building. In my role as an architect, I will see

first - hand the logistical and technical issues related to a real construction project.

All of this work and my associated research and analysis will be assambled in a comprehensive Site Diary.

TASK No. 2

This work will be based around seminars where I will do weekly tasks to develop a 3D computer model based on the construction systems of a medium scale building from the ground up.

The tasks will build in complexity from skeleton to skin, replicating the construction process itself.
